Trazos Returns to THE MART for the Loop Arts Fest

Art on the Mart celebrates the Loop Arts Fest with a one-night screening of Trazos (Traces) on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 pm.

Art on the Mart is joining the Loop Arts Fest with a special screening of Trazos (Traces) on Saturday, October 17, starting at 7:30 pm. Trazos will open the evening, followed by the current programs, Where Data Becomes Light by Argonne National Laboratory and Astrographics by the Adler Planetarium.

Created by Chicago artists and filmmakers Alan Medina and Wills Glasspiegel, Trazos honors the living history of public art in Pilsen, a neighborhood on Chicago's near southwest side. The projection animates the murals, dances, and sounds of this historically Mexican-American community, bringing more than half a century of neighborhood art and culture to the facade of THE MART. Medina and Glasspiegel are friends and longtime Pilsen residents, and Trazos reflects their deep connection to the neighborhood and the artists who shaped it.

The Loop Arts Fest, presented by Chicago Loop Alliance, is a day-long street festival on State Street celebrating the breadth of the Loop's arts and cultural community. After a day on State Street, festivalgoers are invited to head to the Chicago Riverwalk for this special return of Trazos and an evening of projections on THE MART.

Trazos is best viewed from the Chicago Riverwalk between Wells and Franklin. The screening is free and open to the public.
