A drawing of a Black girl with brown hair in long braids leaning on her hands in green grass dotted with mushrooms. The girl is wearing an off-the-shoulder pink gown and gazing into a black and violet starry night sky, featuring a golden galaxy and a large green planet with rings. Green, purple, and blue smaller planets dot the sky. At the top of the painting, the sky opens into a cloud of white, red, and yellow.

Since 2022, ART on THE MART has partnered with CPS to display selected works from submissions to the All-City High School Visual Arts Exhibition and the Senior Portfolio Showcase. Students’ artwork is selected based on a score given for technical skill, craftsmanship, originality, and artist voice. An original score, composed and produced by CPS students, will accompany the projections.

Stay tuned to see the selections for 2024. Check out our CPS partnerships from 2022 and 2023, plus our 2021 collaboration with the local organization After School Matters

This series coincides with the CPS multidisciplinary arts festival, RE·VER·BER·ATE (May 1 – 4). The four-day event provides students in grades PreK – 12 with exhibition and performance opportunities, as well as workshops, portfolio reviews, and career fairs throughout downtown Chicago.

“We know the importance of promoting and recognizing the work of Chicago Public Schools students. We are proud to demonstrate their talent and promise.”

Cynthia Noble, Executive Director of ART on THE MART
